HB&O raises over £600 for Independent Advocacy with week-long #TwoPointSixChallenge
6th May 2020
The charity, based in Stoneleigh, strives to “empower people to lead fulfilling lives” by reducing social isolation, empowering people to stand up for their rights and improve people’s self-esteem.
Our 2.6 Challenge required each participant to walk, run, and/or cycle 26 miles over the course of the week. Collectively, the team managed to complete over 500 miles, with Jason Strain covering 165 miles over the week with a mixture of running and cycling!
Simon Cottingham, CEO of Independent Advocacy, said:
"One of the biggest challenges we face, like many charities at the moment, is fundraising. The pandemic has caused us to lose a significant amount of funding, due to cancelled fundraising events, so the 2.6 Challenge was key to keep our services running. From everyone at Independent Advocacy, we’d like to thank HB&O for choosing to support us!”
Our final fundraising total was £614.10! Thank you to all those who donated.
We’ve put together a short video that explains more about what the charity does and how you can help them during this time.
