The annual event returned to its original home, The Pump Rooms, for its sixth year, with over 180 guests celebrating the amazing successes in the town, as well as raising funds for local charities. The charitable donations, totalling £4405, were split between the finalists in the Warwick District Charity of the Year, with half going to the winners - P3 Charity - and the other half split between Leam Trash Friends, The Ups of Downs and Young People First.

Year on year, the most hotly contested category is the Independent Business of the Year award, which reflects the strength and breadth of independent businesses in the region. Sponsored by HB&O, the category acknowledged thriving local organisations, successfully battling against the difficult economic climate.

The prestigious award this year went to Lockwoods Ski and Outdoor, which has been operating in the town for over 43 years, specialising in the sale and fitting of walking boots, ski boots and all outdoor activity clothing and accessories.

Manager of Lockwoods, Hayley Key said: “This is thanks to our customers who continue to value our family ethos and knowledgeable staff. At this challenging time for retail, and as we move into our third generation of family management, this award is a tribute to the work of my aunt and father, and our amazing team, many of whom have been with us for several decades. We look forward to the decades more to come and of course to the ski season ahead!”

Managing Director of HB&O, and Leamington Business Awards judge, Mark Ashfield added: “We have been keen supporters of The Leamington Business Awards for many years. Highlighting the successes of local organisations, which continue to put Leamington Spa firmly on the map, as well as continuing to breathe life into our unique and special region is crucial. We want to say a huge congratulations to Lockwoods, and all the other winners on the night!”
