Miromedia - Ian Hancock

In a global marketplace, Miromedia’s specialist web solutions bring worldwide benefits for blue chip clients like HSBC, BMI Healthcare and Punch Taverns. 

But when it came to appointing a new accountant, the Kenilworth-based company stayed close to home, by choosing HB&O. 

Miromedia was founded around ten years ago and in that time has grown from what co-owner Ian Hancock describes as a “tiny micro-business” to a team of 13, offering services including web design, online marketing and search engine optimisation. 

Ian explains: “We had had a couple of relationships with different accountants over the years but the growth of the business meant that we needed someone who could offer us extra advice and more services. 

“I had been aware of HB&O for many years and when we talked to them, we could see they were able to offer good advice at a good price. In comparison, we felt we had previously been overcharged for a service that was inadequate.” 

The Miromedia approach of “everything online” is reflected in HB&O’s own integrated range of business support services and after signing up as a client in November 2012, Ian quickly brought in HB&O’s HR Compliance service to review existing HR policies and procedures and prepare an HR manual. 

Miromedia now has the comfort of knowing its documentation will keep it fully compliant with employment law rules and regulations, along with quick access to expert HR advice, as and when it is needed. 

The business has also switched its payroll, which it had always outsourced, to HB&O and has found the service efficient and effective. Ian also appreciates the direct contact with the people dealing with different aspects of Miromedia’s work that HB&O offers.  

Elsewhere, Miromedia is using HB&O for to prepare its annual accounts and looking at the bigger picture of the business, Ian is planning to seek advice on issues such as shareholdings and dividends and enhancing efficiencies within Miromedia. He says: “HB&O’s integrated services are a big advantage for us because they have the capacity to meet our needs as we continue to grow.”
