Clear communication is key to running a successful business, so when optician Mike Harris felt he wasn't getting this from his previous accountant, he decided to look elsewhere, leading him to choose HB&O instead.

Mike, who set up Michael P Harris Opticians Ltd, in Earlsdon Street, Coventry, nearly 29 years ago, said: "My previous firm changed the accountant I was dealing with and I just felt unable to communicate with him.

Mike has now been using HB&O for 21 years and hasn't looked back since. HB&O provides the optician with accounting, payroll and bookkeeping services, as well as day-to-day advice on financial and accounting matters.

Although Mike runs a small business, with just five employees in addition to himself, HB&O has nevertheless helped it grow over the last two decades.

Mike says: "What they provide is practical advice on business growth, including how to raise finance if you need it. They are also to provide tax planning advice, so that we don't end up paying more than we should."

The business deals predominantly with HB&O consultant Jo Leppard, as well as Linda Austin, who handles Mike's bookkeeping, Toni Teed, who looks after his tax returns, and managing director Rob Kendall.

Having already recommended HB&O to others, Mike has nothing but praise for the service he has received.
